For me the important thing about the midterms is how did the sponsors of PIPV bills fare? The good news: Raymond Ward (R) Utah, did get relected to the Utah House of Representatives District 19 unopposed (!). Congrats for that!
On the federal level: Scott Wiener (D) leads in California District 11 but Associated Press has not called a winner, as only 51% of the votes are counted. However its unlikely the other democrat running in Downtown San Francisco will defeat him. He was instrumental in the Californian legislation.
Rob Menendez (D), New Jersey, District 8 has handily won his seat. He introduced the „Socket Full of Sunshine Act“ in the final days of the last Congress. That means this bill has died (all unfinished legislative business (bills, motions, inquiries, and petitions) expires automatically at the end of a legislative period) However there might be a new bill in a new congress with actual chances.
Who sponsored plug-in solar bills, and how they fared on Nov 3, 2026
One row per sponsor. Election results are unofficial, as of Nov 4, 2026. „Leading“ means ahead in the count but not formally called. „Won“ means the race was called or the candidate had no opponent.
